Equipment

  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie Cutter
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Cooling Rack

Ingredients

  • 3 c all purpose flour You will need additional flour for rolling
  • 1 c granulated sugar
  • 1 c butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Tb milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine the eggs, butter, milk, vanilla and sugar.
  • Add in the dry ingredients and stir. The dough will be very thick and stiff, work the dough by hand if needed.
  • Divide the dough in half and on a lightly floured surface roll dough 1/8th to 1/4th inch thick. I always rub a little flour on my rolling pin before I begin. Place on a non greased cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes or until edges begin to turn a light golden brown.
  • Transfer the cookies onto a wire cooling rack.
  • Let the cookies completely cool before decorating. The size of your cookie cutters and thickness of dough will determine the number of cookies.
  • These cookies freeze well up to 3 months.
