- 3 c all purpose flour You will need additional flour for rolling
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1 c butter
- 2 eggs
- 4 Tb milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine the eggs, butter, milk, vanilla and sugar.
Add in the dry ingredients and stir. The dough will be very thick and stiff, work the dough by hand if needed.
Divide the dough in half and on a lightly floured surface roll dough 1/8th to 1/4th inch thick. I always rub a little flour on my rolling pin before I begin. Place on a non greased cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes or until edges begin to turn a light golden brown.
Transfer the cookies onto a wire cooling rack.
Let the cookies completely cool before decorating. The size of your cookie cutters and thickness of dough will determine the number of cookies.
These cookies freeze well up to 3 months.
